The
cottage from its position on top of Treknow Cliff looks down over Trebarwith
Strand. There are wonderful views across Port Isaac Bay
towards the Rumps and Pentire
Point with
Gull
Rock in
the
foreground.
Sometimes you will be lucky enough to see a wonderful
sunset or even observe the “Green Flash” as the sun finally
sinks below the horizon. There are also extensive rural views from
other aspects of the cottage.
Trebarwith Strand can be reached by either walking down the footpath or driving to the large car park in the valley. The beach is sandy with pools and a stream and is also a good venue for surfers. It stretches about a mile but one can only walk the whole length at a very low tide because of the little bays created by the slate outcrops. At high tide the beach is fully covered by the sea. The Port William Inn is set just above the beach and is a popular place for lunch or an evening meal.
